Teatri Riflessi Festival invites artists to submit live works for its 2027 International Short Performance Competition. This call is for contemporary dance, theatre, circus, or multidisciplinary performances, with a maximum duration of 15 minutes per piece.
The theme for this edition is ‘constellations,’ evoking the imagery of a living web of invisible bonds and a network of relationships that connect us to others and our environment. The competition seeks to reaffirm the value of connection as a daily practice and political choice, encouraging reflection on our place within complex ecosystems. Artists are invited to explore how performing arts can visualize these interdependencies, transforming gestures and encounters into acts of care, responsibility, and shared hope.
Selected works will be presented at Zafferana Etnea, Sicily, Italy, from 13 to 18 July 2027, and will compete before numerous Italian and international professionals, including theatre and festival directors, dance network coordinators, programmers, residency centre representatives, critics, and scholars.
