About the Call Full Details

The Berlendis Venice Art Prize is an international open call from Marignana Arte and Kosmos Contemporary Venice APS. The 2027 edition, titled ‘Have we crossed the threshold? A journey beyond borders, identities and languages,’ invites artists to delve into the concept of ‘crossing’ as a multifaceted practice. This theme can be interpreted through various lenses, including physical, inner, geographical, linguistic, cultural, or symbolic passages; processes of transformation; or explorations of boundaries between media, identities, memories, and disciplines. Finalists will participate in a group exhibition at Spazio Berlendis in Venice from February 20 to March 21, 2027, accompanied by a dedicated publication.

The prize is open to artists of any nationality, categorized into two sections: ‘Emergent’ for artists aged 18 to 30 (who must not have turned 31 by the application deadline) and ‘Contemporary’ for artists over 30 with no upper age limit.

Eligible contemporary art media include Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Graphic Arts, Photography, Collage, Sculpture, Installation, Textile Art, and Video Art. Each artist may submit one work. Two-dimensional works have a maximum dimension of 200×200 cm, and three-dimensional works are limited to 150x150x150 cm. The maximum weight for any submitted work is 20 kg.

Entry Fees

€25 for artists under 30; €35 for artists over 30.
