About the Call Full Details
TRACES (Transdisciplinary Research in Arts, Creation & Sciences) is a new international Art & Science residency programme situated on the Energypolis campus in Sion, Switzerland. For its pilot edition, TRACES extends an invitation to an international visual artist for a three-month immersive residency. The artist will engage in dialogue with the Laboratory for Energy Materials, led by Prof. Sascha Feldmann (EPFL), from January 11 to April 18, 2027, culminating in a public presentation on April 15, 2027. The laboratory’s research focuses on the interaction of light and matter to develop the next generation of ‘soft’ semiconductors, with applications in flexible solar cells, energy-efficient displays, and quantum technologies.
This residency is open to established, professional international visual artists. Applicants are required to possess specialized training or equivalent experience, along with recognized standing in their field, evidenced by public presentations of their artistic work. A minimum of two years of professional practice is mandatory. Furthermore, applicants must be at least 25 years old and have completed their studies a minimum of two years prior to applying.
