About the Call Full Details
Creative Philadelphia invites artists to design and fabricate a series of permanent interpretive panels with integrated augmented reality (AR) components for the Municipal Services Building in Center City Philadelphia. This public art commission is integral to a larger initiative featuring a forthcoming sculpture of Dr. Sadie T.M. Alexander. The panels will commemorate the City of Philadelphia’s dedicated municipal employees across generations and offer enriched context for understanding Dr. Alexander’s profound influence on Philadelphians.
This opportunity is open to all interested artists, with a strong encouragement for those based in Philadelphia. Artists residing outside the region are also welcome to apply. Applicants should be aware that multiple in-person site visits will be required throughout the project’s duration, and all associated travel expenses must be covered within the allocated project budget.
The selection process involves two distinct parts: an initial submission of qualifications, followed by finalist proposals and interviews. Up to three finalists will be invited to develop concise concept proposals and participate in an interview. Artists are specifically advised not to submit design proposals during the initial application phase.
