SELF-The Unexpected Self-Portrait

About the Call Full Details

Decagon Gallery invites photographers worldwide to submit to “SELF-The Unexpected Self-Portrait,” an online exhibition exploring the depths of photographic self-portraiture. This call seeks images that transcend mere likeness, encouraging artists to delve into honest, uncomfortable, tender, or strange self-exploration. The gallery is particularly interested in work that uses the self as a vehicle for larger questions, prioritizing vulnerability over polished presentation.

Submissions are open to photographers globally, welcoming all photographic styles and processes, including documentary, constructed, conceptual, or experimental approaches. Each artist may submit one photograph that demonstrates a clear, felt point of view. Selected works will be featured in an online exhibition running from December 6, 2026, to February 6, 2027, and will be included in a printed exhibition catalog.
