About the Call Full Details

The BigCi Environmental Awards invite Australian and international creatives to engage with environmental and natural science issues through their artistic practice. Hosted at an independent residency on the edge of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Greater Blue Mountains, the program encourages projects that creatively respond to unique wilderness and current ecological challenges.

Eligible applicants include practitioners in visual arts, installation, multimedia, performance, literature, music, photography, filmmaking, and curating. Selected participants will execute their projects within a specific timeframe, benefiting from research assistance and professional development opportunities within one of the world’s top biodiversity hotspots.

Entry Fees

AUD $40 per entry

The Prizes

Primary Award Value Two winners will each receive a four-week residency at BigCi and AUD $5,000 in prize money. Winners also receive guided walks through the Wollemi, Blue Mountains, and Gardens of Stone National Parks, research assistance, and a presentation opportunity at a BigCi Open Day event.
