The 16th Annual Salon Art Prize is a prestigious online competition organized by PleinAir and Fine Art Connoisseur magazines. It operates through eleven monthly cycles, culminating in a grand annual competition that celebrates excellence in contemporary painting and drawing. Master artists, museum directors, and gallery owners serve as jurors for each cycle.
The call is open to individual artists worldwide who are at least 18 years of age. Submissions must be original compositions and cannot be based on published works or copies of other artists’ pieces. The competition welcomes a wide range of categories and styles within the painting and drawing mediums.
While the organizing magazines have a focus on landscape and plein air art, this specific prize is inclusive of all subject matters and techniques. Entries do not need to be recent or currently in the artist’s possession, though they must strictly exclude photography, digital art, or AI-generated content.
