About the Call Full Details

Oil Painters of America invites representational artists to submit their work for the 2026 National Salon, an exhibition focused on small-format oil paintings. Hosted by Cassens Fine Art in Hamilton, Montana, this juried event will showcase approximately 180 outstanding works that demonstrate excellence in draftsmanship, color, and composition while celebrating a diversity of styles.

Eligible submissions must be original oil paintings created by hand on a singular flat substrate within the last five years. All works must be original in concept and design, framed, and wired for hanging. Size requirements are strict: the canvas size may not exceed 320 square inches unframed. Additionally, all participating artists must maintain active OPA membership and all works must be available for sale.

Entry Fees

$35 for the first painting, $15 for the second painting, and $10 for the third. OPA membership is required.

The Prizes

Primary Award Value Approximately $30,000 in cash and merchandise awards.
